Proctology, Piles
Proctology deals withailments of the butt, anus, rectum, and sigmoid colon.
The rectum and anus (the end of the bowel where it meets the skin at the bottom) as well as the skin surrounding the anus are affected.
They can be classified into four types based on their symptoms:
- Itch
- Pain
- Lumps
- Bleeding
Painless bleeding with constipation suggests Piles. It can be treated with medicines or surgery according to its grade. Surgery can be conventional, LASER or stappler techniques.
THE CAUSES OF ITCHING AND HOW TO GET RID OF IT
Itchy bottom (also known as pruritus ani) is fairly common and usually has a simple cause and solution that can be self-managed, although being socially awkward at times. If the procedures listed below do not work, visit your doctor, as antifungal or other creams may be required, or alternative diagnosis may be investigated.
Itchy bottoms are frequently caused by excessive moisture, such as sweat, irritation from scratching or chemical soaps (which causes even more itching), or infection (such as worms). When a woman has Candida (thrush) in the vaginal area, the infection can spread to the bottom and cause irritation.
