Hernias are swellings on your belly due to a defect in the abdominal wall, they occur due to increased abdominal pressure. The inguinal/groin , umbilical and incisional hernias ate commonest.

They need surgery with mesh repair. Hernias can cause complications which can be life threatening, so they are advised to be treated as soon as they are detected.

They are treated with conventional open surgery or laparoscopic surgery.
